Well, here we are the first full day as a fully-fledged quinquagenarian, and a strange moment indeed. We are currently emerging slowly from the Pandemic of Covid-19, and if I have learnt anything from the last few months, it is that life is too short, but also we have to take responsibility for ourselves and our own health, well being and life choices.
I feel liberated that I am now 50 and actually I am not responsible for the way others treat me but I am responsible for the way in which I react to them or situations. Anxiety has held me back for many years, but not any more.
I am going to shed the weight I have slowly put on, after losing 6 stone several years ago, I have managed to find 3 of them again. I am going to regain my running fitness, I struggle to run 3 miles at the moment but I aim to build on this and get back to enjoying the running again, rather than concentrate on the speed element. So I will be sharing my running, walking and weight management efforts on this blog
Furthermore, I am halfway through my two-year Nursing Associate programme at Plymouth University. So on graduation day 2021, I want to be the healthiest version of me and be in a good place to decide whether I want to continue my Studies onto the Adult General Nurse course.
Hey, you are never too late to change bad habits or learn new things, right?
Today the activity starts, tomorrow the healthy eating.
First up a gentle dog walk just to get me off of the sofa.
