SO here we go!

Well, it's my own D Day, do it day.

The running of sorts started yesterday evening and the healthy eating kicks in today.  I have my Garmin 235 charged for my activity recording and my fitness pal app to record my daily calories and water.
I will, of course, try to record stats daily at the bottom of my posts but may not always remember as Life/work/uni can overtake my good intentions at times.

I have also signed up for a virtual fun run of June with This Girl Runs on FB, this month I aim to run or walk 100KM (62 miles).

So yesterday a social distance run took place with a good friend. We wanted to enjoy our run so it would keep us motivated so much laughter and breathing breaks were had. We also found swings LOL.

So much happier than running against the clock to get faster and further. we achieved 4 and a half miles. Furthest I have run for months.
It's still early here today, so nothing much to report other than I have had my breakfast = 1 banana, my mum has radiotherapy today (zapping the last of the breast cancer cells away, hopefully), and I have a uni zoom meeting later.

I do hope to get out for a run or walk this afternoon (nope did not happen).

Time to buckle down and do some hard work !!!

Well, here we are the first full day as a fully-fledged quinquagenarian, and a strange moment indeed. We are currently emerging slowly from the Pandemic of Covid-19, and if I have learnt anything from the last few months, it is that life is too short, but also we have to take responsibility for ourselves and our own health, well being and life choices. I feel liberated that I am now 50 and actually I am not responsible for the way others treat me but I am responsible for the way in which I react to them or situations. Anxiety has held me back for many years, but not any more.  I am going to shed the weight I have slowly put on, after losing 6 stone several years ago, I have managed to find 3 of them again. I am going to regain my running fitness, I struggle to run 3 miles at the moment but I aim to build on this and get back to enjoying the running again, rather than concentrate on the speed element. So I will be sharing my running, walking and weight management efforts on this blo...

Sneaks back into the blogger, hanging head in shame.

I know I went missing, I had annual leave, food was a nightmare, running was okay. But I have a plan I can not do it alone. WW has been signed up for and even thinking of changing my running club. Tomorrow I am going to weigh myself - new starting weight, I am going to measure certain areas, I am going to take a before pic - EEEEEEKKKK! Needs must.
